
Luis Rubiales has resigned from his position as president of the Spanish Football Federation after widespread criticism for kissing Spanish striker Gheni Hermoso after the Women’s World Cup final.
Hermoso (33 years old) said that the kiss during the presentation ceremony after Spain’s victory over England in Sydney was not consensual.

“I cannot continue my work,” the 46-year-old said when announcing his intention to resign on the television program “Piers Morgan Uncensored.”
He issued a statement saying that he had submitted his resignation to the acting president of the federation, Pedro Rocha.
Rubiales also resigned from his position as Vice President of the UEFA Executive Committee.
