Police surprised a high school band director after he refused to end a show at an Alabama football stadium.
Johnny Mims, 39, and his students were on their final number when police approached and asked Mims to end the show.
Bodycam footage released by police showed Mr Mims refusing to stop his musicians from playing.
The video they posted also contains a transcript from the Birmingham Police Department, which claimed the initial arrest attempt failed. Soon after, Mr. Mims was stunned in front of his students.
Mr Mims was treated at the stadium before being transported to a local hospital.
“Nothing we did at that time was a danger to the community, the fans or the school,” Mims told NPR on Monday.
“Everyone was having a good time. This is the part I find difficult to deal with,” he added.
